Grandma and Her Girl

Grandma Carole with her girl, three weeks before Roxie was gone.

Oh, my, so many ways that Roxie is still in our lives.  I would like to share three stories with you.

1)  I spoke with my cousin Sandy this morning in Warren, Ohio.  Her husband has been bed-ridden for several years.  She is sole caregiver.  She has two children with families who live in Columbus. Her daughter is a college professor at OSU and her son is a Vice President at one of the big banks in NYC.  Sandy lives from SS checks from month to month.  She also does not use technology so I have copied many articles and pictures about Roxie to send her.  Finally her daughter sent her an iPad but she is confused.  I reached out to her daughter and shared  news and asked if she could help her mother.  The daughter (whom I have never met) was deeply moved by the news of Roxie .  Since then she has visited her parents twice, even an overnight.  And....she and her family are going to visit the day after Xmas and celebrate.  I feel Roxie help here!!!

2)  I just spoke with Aunt Nancy (godmother) and also had a long conversation with Tracey (godmother’s daughter) who is visiting. Quoting Tracy, "Roxie's death has changed me as a person and a parent!" She visits the website all the time and shares your story with many people.

3) When planning our trip to CA I had to change a yearly dermatology appt. This doctor is quite busy so I explained at that time why I had to change that appt. On Weds. when I had my appt. she remembered why I had changed my date and quietly asked if Roxie had been ill.  When I told her how Roxie died she came out from behind her glass with tears streaming down her cheeks and gave me a "Roxie" hug!

Roxie IS spreading her love and hugs and her spirit of kindness!  I miss her "Hi, Gramma.  I love you!"  I still tell her every day how much I love HER!

Love you!
