Roxie raced out each day to find someone she could love.

It was stunning to watch.

By six, she had marched for immigrants’ rights, donated a chunk of her own toys and books—in person—to children victimized by northern California wildfires and she never the left the side of a dear school friend who was relegated to his own lunch table because of severe food allergies. In fact, she sat with him for an entire year.

These are just a few of the many random acts of kindness that Roxie bestowed upon children and adults throughout her very brief life. She was a cool kid. Not only kind, but sensitive and self-aware. We wish we could take credit for it. But the truth is, Roxie was Roxie—her own beautiful soul.

We adults can learn a thing or two from the purity of a child’s heart and mind. Roxie is by no means alone. Many children are ready to roar for the good of communities far and wide. We just have to let them free to do so.

Therefore, in honor of our little social justice lion we have launched a program that we hope you and your children will engage. Let someone go in front of you while you’re waiting in line. Buy the person behind you coffee or a grocery item. Leave that close parking space for someone else. Add a few more dollars to your server’s tip. Volunteer. Use your imagination.

Simple requirements:

  1. Email us for Roxie Acts of Kindness cards. We will mail them immediately. But even if you do a good deed in Roxie’s honor without the card, let us know too. You can also download a sheet of cards here.

  2. Your act does not have to be monumental, but it must be meaningful.

  3. Leave one of our special Roxie Acts of Kindness cards with the person or people you help.

  4. Share your experience with us in an email or in the below form so we can share it with our social universe. Include photos if you have them!
