Mourning Roxie

NOTE: We are rather astonished by the number of errors in this article. Most importantly, Roxie did not, and we repeat, did not have a cold on her final day of camp. We have demanded a retraction/correction from the writer/editor. UPDATE: The editor will be making a retraction/correction in the July 9 Pasadena Weekly newspaper and the August Arroyo magazine.
To clarify a few other points:
We managed the infusions at home, not Children’s Hospital.
The next time we saw her [Roxie] after we dropped her at Summerkids was at Huntington Hospital, not Children’s Hospital.
“DiMassa says Roxie had a medical event…” should have been “parents of Summerkids campers said that DiMassa referred to Roxie’s health condition as the cause of death.”
The name Roxy should be Roxie.
American Camp Association should be American Camping Association.
